Introduction to Module 1
Hi, I'm Kirsten, your PAD Processes training Instructor. Welcome to this course!
This is your Introduction to Module 1.
Now is a great time for improving and using your English, if you know what you are doing! Knowing what you're doing starts with clear thinking, because clear thinking encourages effective action. In this, our first Module, we're going to cover a lot of ground. As we progress, you will find that you can enter into PAD in EFL (that's Proficiency Acquisition and Development in English as a Foreign Language) with clarity of mind and purpose.
Units 1, 2 and 3
So, I'm going to begin by showing you:
- How you function as a learner - Unit 1
- The processes in PAD Processes - Unit 2
- How Language Generation functions, with PAD Processes - Unit 3
Note that language generation and PAD are both normally referred to as “learning English". So, you could say that we’re going to look at how the English language and how learning English function. Units 1, 2 and 3 are quite theoretical. Don't be put off! Theory isn’t wishy washy. Theories serve to explain hard facts!
Units 1, 2 and 3 are going to give you the foundational insights necessary in order for you to be able to contextualise and appreciate what you will learn in Units 4, 5 and 6.
Units 4, 5 and 6
Understand how to use the fixed aspects of how the English language functions. Use these aspects to build an underlying PAD Processes and Language Generation structure. See how to start integrating everything explained in this Module into your personal EFL experience, and gradually start enjoying the massive transformation it produces.
- Using key sounds and the Auxiliary Verb Operating System (AVOS) to function in English - Unit 4
